Adventurer Stacey Under an elephantMy website is filled with practical advice on how you can travel more and get the most for your money. I also share my own experiences to give you a bit of friendly guidance. Of course my website is not a “how to have an amazing time in ten easy steps” guide because I trust that my readers once they’re on the road will find their own fun. A little push to get them started on their personal adventure is what I offer.

Do you need a little help to get on the road? You’ve found it.

For most people, money is the biggest hurdle for travel

It’s something that comes up again and again when I talk to my readers about travel. Just how does one afford to travel and can they do it too? Are two questions I get all of the time.

I’m no trust fund baby and didn’t come into an inheritance. My working-class roots are evidence enough that anyone can travel should they be savvy as to how it’s done while you’re on a budget (and if you’re not on a budget, you can still find value in saving money, right?). I share this information with my readers through my blog, email newsletter and when they email me personally (yes, it really is me answering those emails, many are surprised!). I have some good money-saving tips for planning your trip and when you’re on the road.

Some people would prefer to dream about travel rather than get out there because they’re scared.

… Or because they have other priorities, sometimes. This is a difficult one to address but I try my best. When talking to a girlfriend recently about her plans to travel we kept coming up against the road block of fear. The list of excuses not to travel went on and on but at the end of the day the only thing that was truly stopping her was herself.

Becoming aware of that fear is the first step in the right direction. I find learning as much as you can about where you want to go and being inspired for travel come next.

I mentioned people with other priorities too, they’re usually people who would prefer to live comfortable lives with few hassles, sure they want to travel a little bit but other things are more important and that’s fine. To travel long term or extensively, one must truely want to and make travel their priority.

Who am I exactly?

I’m Stacey, I’m a twenty-something who’s passionate about living life to the fullest. I love Europe-Asia-2013-679.jpgthe outdoors: I love to dive, snorkel and read in the sun. I’m drawn to travel because I love to eat (I think there’s a few travellers this is secretly their only reason to hit the road). I am also interested in history, culture and people. Everyone has a story and I love to hear those stories!

The first real travel I did was spending six weeks backpacking Europe with a girlfriend at twenty-two using the money I’d saved working a variety of minimum-wage jobs. I believe because I worked hard for it, travel was always something I appreciated all the more.

Why am I offering you all of this advice for free?

The honest answer is because I believe life is too short for people not to be following their dreams. Travel is a dream I had for what felt like a long time before I finally bit the bullet so I know how hard it is, and how rewarding once you do take the leap.

At this point in my life this is something positive I can give back to the world, and I would like to make some positive changes in people’s lives.
